Kent's wedding boutiques are braced for a rush of brides picking up on decadent Great Gatsby style as the remake of the film goes on show around the UK.
Shops including Folkestone-based Pumpkins & Dragonflies have invested in sumptuous lace fabrics and heaps of diamante crystal detail in anticipation of an unprecedented rush for 1920s glamour.
Karina O'Donnell, from Pumpkins & Dragonflies said she believed top-to-toe 1920s style would be a huge wedding trend this year.
She said: "The decadence of this era appeals, and with the remake of The Great Gatsby, along with the recent popularity of Downton Abbey, the 1920s will be roaring back!
"The fashion in this era was very romantic and this will be seen in bridal with the use of flowing silks, charmeuse and lace. Colours will include champagne, soft peach, silver and ivory.
"Dresses will be decorated with glitzy, glamorous belts or heavy diamante crystal detail at the neckline. We will see more of beaded headbands and crystal side pieces."
The 2013 adaptation of F Scott Fitzgerald's novel stars Leonardo DiCaprio and British actress Carey Mulligan.
