Haynes Ford have announced that they are expanding from their current base in Maidstone further into East Kent with the opening of a new showroom and service centre located in the cathedral City of Canterbury.

Haynes is one of Kent’s oldest family businesses having started in 1790 and been established in Maidstone since 1832. When Henry Ford set up ‘Ford of Britain’, Haynes were the first dealer to be appointed for Kent in 1911 and from then started to distribute Ford’s range of cars, commercial vehicles, trucks and agricultural farm machinery.

These are products it still sells to this day, albeit some via different manufacturers, given Ford’s exit from the truck and agricultural business.

That said, over the years Haynes’s Ford Car and Commercial business has gone on from strength to strength and Haynes has expanded their premises in the County Town of Maidstone becoming in 2016a ‘FordStore’- a flagship Ford Sales and Service Centre able to sell and service the full range of Ford cars, commercial vehicles, performance vehicles and,more latterly, electric vehicles.

The decision to now expand into Canterbury follows the expansion of the aftersales side of the Ford business into Ashford, where the company has an authorised Ford Commercial Vehicle Service Centre.

This wider expansion into East Kent was also a natural progression for the company, with both the agricultural and truck divisions of Haynes already having a significant presence in the area with depots based at Birchington, Great Chart and Ashford and a ‘Ford Parts Plus’ business already well known with many companies in the area.

The new Haynes Ford Dealership on Westminster Road in Canterbury will feature Ford’s full range of both new cars and commercial vehicles,with the newly refurbished service area able to repair both cars and vans with a fully trained team of manufacturer trained technicians who are also able to carry out MOTs onsite.

The car and commercial sales teams are also all fully FCA trained, having completed relevant training programmes, and will have complete knowledge of the vehicles onsite. They can advise fully on all aspects of the purchase process and demonstrate our high standards of customer care.

The dealership will be formally launched with a customer sales event starting on the 16th March, with opening offers for both cars and vans available. The event will then also run at the Maidstone showroom the following week, allowing both new and existing Haynes customers to take advantage of the offers available on stock vehicles, wherever they are in the county.
