Travel bolt-ons firm Holiday Extras has boosted its offering after acquiring a Kent-based technology firm.
Holiday Extras, based in Newingreen, near Hythe, has snapped up Rochester’s Future Generation Services (FGS).
The Medway firm has been developing ticket kiosks and key lockers to work with the holiday firm’s ParkIT software which it uses for those booking ‘meet and greet’, ‘drop and go’ or ‘valet’ parking services at airports.
It hopes the takeover - the group’s third major investment into tech businesses this year - will “further fuse FGS’s innovative hardware with ParkIT’s pioneering software”.
FGS will continue to operate out of its Rochester base, with its founder, Delroy Marks, remaining an integral part of the team.
Mr Marks said: “Working with ParkIT and the Holiday Extras Group for over 10 years has been a fulfilling experience, grounded in shared values that have championed collaboration and helped us to grow our businesses together. I’m looking forward to working with the group over the coming years to further grow our markets and solutions.”
Oli Ashford, managing director of ParkIT, added: “We’ve worked closely with the FGS team in Rochester to deliver solutions for airports across the globe and their technology has become an important part of our business and long-term strategy.”
