A house builder has been named one of the UK’s fastest-growing private companies for the second year running.
Maidstone-based Chartway Group was one of two Kent firms to make it into The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 league table.
It was the second time the construction business and contractor has made it into the list, this time ranking 65th after recording a 58.6% average sales growth over the past three years.
The firm was named the fastest-growing private company in Kent at this year’s MegaGrowth 50 back in October, organised by KM Group and sponsored by asb law, Lloyds Bank and Reeves.
It was joined in The Sunday Times list by children’s clothes retailer Childrensalon, based in Tunbridge Wells, which was ranked 80th.
The firm – which stocks more than 270 brands, including Dior, Gucci and Burberry – recorded a growth in sales of 52.32% over the last three years, thanks to an expanding online operation and expansion overseas.
It was ranked second in MegaGrowth 50, which measures the fastest-growing private companies in Kent using accounts from Companies House and records submitted to the KM Group.
Turnover at Chartway, which was founded by Ian Savage and Philip Cunningham in 2009, has grown from £5.5m in 2011 to £21.8m in 2014.
Managing director Ian Savage said: “To make the Fast Track 100 two years in a row is testament to the hard work of every one of our 86-strong team, our contract team and suppliers.
“While we’ve kept a close eye on the financial management of the company, we’ve also focused on understanding the needs of our customers and always delivering for them
“The outlook for the company in 2015 looks positive with further growth anticipated.”
Chartway Group and Childrensalon will receive their 2014 trophy in May at an event held at Richard Branson’s Oxfordshire family home.
Fast Track 100 is compiled by Fast Track and published in The Sunday Times each December.
