A Kent business woman has shared a joke with Prince William about Brexit.
Jo James, chief executive of the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce, met the future King to collect her OBE.
The business figure, who has worked for the chamber, based in Ashford, for the last 29 years, was named on the Queen's Birthday Honours' List in June for her services to the economy in Kent.
And after being invited to Buckingham Palace to collect the Order of the British Empire, she was was presented with the gong by Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge.
Mrs James, who has been CEO of the chamber since 2008, said: "It was a wonderful day and I was delighted to meet Prince William.
"He asked me how Brexit was affecting Kent and I joked how I thought a day at Buckingham Palace would give me a day off from Brexit talk. He found that funny.
"But we had a nice chat and it was a real day to remember.
“Since my time with the chamber, I have seen so many changes both to the chamber itself, which that has grown significantly in both size and relevance, but also the changes in the business community that we represent.
“Kent is blessed with a very diverse and entrepreneurial business community and it has certainly been a pleasure working with them to grow the economy of our county.
“Although I have been recognised for the part I have played in this growth, it takes more than one person to initiate change. We have a fantastic team at the chamber who work very hard to provide the support to our business community.
“I am very fortunate to have a family that has supported me through my career, which has enabled me to do the work I do.
“I am very proud to receive this award, but it certainly represents the handwork and support others have given to me along the way.
“My visit to the palace, along with my husband, son and daughter, was such a memorable day and one we will never forget."
