JEM Education Marketing Services of Ashford has acquired JR Digital Print Services, a Whitstable-based company that specialises in short-run digital printing and proof/advance copy book production.
JR Digital will enable JEM to provide complementary services to those already promoted through its BookFile division.
The company provides a wide range of short-run print-on-demand and print-to-stock solutions for book publishers and authors, with specialist expertise to produce hardback and paperback books from digital data or the original book.
Its services can also be used to produce personalised or generic brochures, flyers, specification/data sheets, price lists, parts lists, and product/training manuals.
André Kleinman, Director of JEM, said: "This latest acquisition is ideal for JEM and complements the wide range of mailing and response handling services we already provide to publishers in the education and other market sectors.
"Together with our BookFile Services for Publishers it enables us to provide a fully integrated, end-to-end service which will provide our clients with the benefits of convenience, speed, quality and competitiveness."
JR Digital's previous owner, Barbara Davidson, is delighted to see the business that was started and developed by her late husband, transfer to JEM.
She said: "I am pleased that the business is passing to JEM, who we've known for some time as a client. Their business shares the same client satisfaction and quality values to us."
JEM's client services and management team is based in Ashford and their education production facilities are in Rushden, Northants.
