JOANNA Ames, head of Buzzlines Travel, Kent and Sussex, and En Route Travel, has been elected to the board of the Coach Tourism Council (CTC).

Ms Ames, who has many years of experience organising coach holidays in the UK and across Europe, will be playing an active role on the council’s events and conferences committee.

The CTC, which has its national headquarters at Lombard House, Upper Bridge Street, Canterbury, has more than 400 members. The membership includes leading UK coach operators, hotel groups and holiday suppliers.

The council, chaired by Sean Taggart, of Albatross Travel Group, Larkfield, near Maidstone, is dedicated to promoting coach tourism to consumers and suppliers and is a regular exhibitor at travel trade fairs and shows.

Ms Ames’ first official event as a board member was attending Coach Tourism 2005, at Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, which brings together coach travel buyers and providers from the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia and Continental Europe.
