Jumeira Indian Restaurant in Cranbrook picked up a prestigious award at the recent Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards (ARTA) Awards.

On Sunday 6 October at London’s Royal Lancaster, family-run business Jumeira beat nine other restaurants across the county to win Regional Restaurant of the Year in Kent.

Hosted by Samantha Simmonds, BBC Journalist and Broadcaster, and Paul Martin, Magician and member of the world-famous Magic Circle, the coveted awards are in recognition of the UK’s best Asian cuisine across a series of prestigious regional and national categories.

ARTA rewards excellence, craft, creativity and great taste by bringing the UK’s most prestigious Asian restaurants and chefs together under one roof.

With branches also in Staplehurst and Wadhurst, Jumeira has come a long way since its humble beginnings in 2012.

Winners of the Best Indian in Kent at the Curry Awards in 2017 and with over three decades of experience in Indian dining, Jumeira and its managing director Tariq Ahmed also prides itself on the close bond it has with its local communities and surrounding villages.

Their steakhouse in Staplehurst, Bleu Steakhouse, has also proved a smash hit with diners venturing to their restaurant from all over including Ashford, Tunbridge Wells and even as far as London.
