Kent County Cricket Club is hoping to bowl businesses over with a new partnership scheme.
The club has launched a number of schemes designed to bring more commercial revenue into the club.
It coincides with a multi-million pound redevelopment of the St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury.
Naz Khalik, a partner in Dynamix accounting and consultancy firm, based in Canterbury and Sandwich, is already a supporter and one of the first firms to sign up to the new Team Kent sponsorship scheme.
He is injecting around £10,000 into the club.
"I love cricket, my team love cricket," he said. "It works very well for us commercially. There is already a financial return. I can identify how it's developed my business in two or three key areas."
David Armstrong, associate director of Belmont International, Sevenoaks, said the business was considering signing up. "It's a balance between cost and what we think will be the return."
Jamie Clifford, KCCC chief executive, added: "I would like to re-energise the Kent business community to get behind Kent cricket."
