Kent firm helps bring blockbuster to big screen

THE specialist painting techniques of a Maidstone firm are being seen on the big screen.

Film-makers Warner Brothers commissioned Hi-Tec Spray in Park Wood to help them construct the outrageous and eccentric sets for the multi-million pound blockbuster, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Hi-Tec Spray supplied the specialist paint spray equipment to help produce the backdrop for the fantasyland of chocolate rivers, waterfalls and edible trees at Pinewood Studios.

The equipment was hired from Hi-Tec Spray’s Dartford depot, which serves London and the South East.

Depot manager Kevin Newton said: "The set designers had very specific requirements and turned to us because we have experience in supplying paint spray systems for set design.

"We supplied equipment for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and more recently Batman Begins.

"We were delighted to be involved in such an exciting project and think the end results look great on the big screen."
