A NEW Kitemark recognising the contribution that small businesses give to the community has been launched in Dartford and Gravesham - one of five areas chosen to pilot it.
Community Mark is a great opportunity for local businesses that are already helping out within the local community to receive full recognition for their contribution.
It is also about working with businesses that do not have a community programme to get involved with.
By encouraging companies to establish a community programme it will give them the opportunity to tackle social issues which are affecting local business growth.
Mr Nigel Turley, community mark manager for Dartford said: "I am here to guide the business through the assessment free of charge. There is no cost involved in achieving this prestigious award."
"The benefit to the companies involved will include media coverage, raised profile in the community and additional business opportunities."
The paperwork involved in achieving this award is kept to a minimum and it allows businesses to support their particular community interest. This award which is supported by "Business In The Community" and the Home Office will be rolled out to Medway and Swale in January, before going nationwide by the middle of next year.
Nigel said "This is a great opportunity for companies to commit and be recognised as one of the pioneers and champions of this award."
If you are a small or medium sized company with less than 250 employees and want to get involved with this scheme or require further details, call Nigel Turley on 01322 291060.
