Los Angeles-based beauty brand Smashbox Cosmetics has opened its first standalone store in the South East at a Kent shopping centre.
The retailer has launced a 889sq ft store opposite TopShop at Bluewater.
It is designed to recreate the look and feel of the Smashbox Photo Studios in Los Angeles, where the cosmetics brand was created.
Russell Loveland, portfolio director at Land Securities, co-owner and asset manager of the shopping centre, said international brands “continue to select Bluewater as a springboard for their growth in the UK”.
He said: “Smashbox Cosmetics is a fantastic addition to Bluewater’s outstanding offer.
“The new flagship retail space will further strengthen the health and beauty category of the scheme, and reinforce Bluewater’s position as the UK’s leading retail and leisure destination.”
Anuschka Kuhnel, brand manager at Smashbox Cosmetics, said the company has focused on opening standalone stores outside London “in select locations”.
She added: “The enthusiasm and demand we have experienced for our brand amongst consumers throughout the South East makes Bluewater an exciting move for us.”
CBRE and Time Retail Partners acted for Bluewater. JLL represented Smashbox Cosmetics.
