INTERNATIONAL architect David Chipperfield will reveal the latest designs for the £17million Turner Contemporary gallery next month.
Kent County Council has been working with the team of architects from the London-based practice since the last public meeting in June to develop the designs to respond to many of the comments made by the public.
Ideas have also come from those who attended exhibitions at Thanet libraries and the Westwood Cross Shopping Centre.
A significant part of the revised design focuses on how the building should reflect the local area. Changes include proposing a two-storey building with a pitched roof rather than three-storey with a flat roof.
Mike Hill, KCC cabinet member for community services, said: "We are grateful for the comments and suggestions we received for the building and pleased that so many people have taken an interest.
"The revised plans reflect many of those ideas. This is an exciting time as we approach the final stages of design."
Victoria Jessen-Pike from David Chipperfield Architects added: "Designing for the area meant taking into account many elements including the natural landscape, the light and how visually dynamic and exciting the gallery should be, as well as creating a building which appeals and attracts visitors."
The designs will be on display at the Theatre Royal, Margate, on Tuesday, October 16.
