A conference that promises to help firms embrace digital marketing and technology is being held.
Digital In Kent, a one-day conference staged in association with Kent Business, is being held on April 17 at the Quarterhouse, Folkestone.
Statistics from the Digital Britain Manifesto show many enterprises are not comfortable with these tools, threatening jobs and growth.
Jonnie Jensen, a digital coach and founder of Live+Social pictured right, says old methods no longer work. Ways of communicating with customers are unrecognisable from a few years ago. Digital change has affected HR, customer services and product development.
He says every facet of a business can be improved by new technologies. “Whether you are a start-up technology company or the most traditional of long-established businesses, the importance of understanding digital marketing, cloud technology, the internet, social networks and social media has never been more pressing.”
He cites the difficulties of high street names like HMV and Blockbuster as examples of businesses that failed to heed the digital revolution.
“Your business success today is about your ability to relate to customers, in a way that is effective and efficient.”
