BUSINESSES looking for guidance on training and skills development should head to Medway on Wednesday.

Introducing the work of its Skills Advice Service, Business Link Kent is holding a comprehensive information day for employers at the University of Greenwich campus in Chatham.

Covering all aspects of skills development, the informal open day will offer businesses free one-to-one sessions with a business advisor and guidance on the myriad training levels available, including NVQ, apprenticeships, Profit from Learning, further education colleges and private training providers.

Deryck Banks, head of the Skills Advice Service, said: "We want to steer businesses in the right direction with free skills advice.

"Many companies don’t know where to start when it comes to identifying the development needs of their staff, and those that do often don’t have the time.

"The Skills Advice Service is here to diagnose what training a business needs, offer expert advice and point people towards the most appropriate organisation to provide that training.

"We will then stay in touch to assess the overall success of the training recommended."

To attend the event contact the Skills Advice Service via skillsadvice@businesslinkkent.com or call 0800 528 2000.
