LIZ JACKSON: Her telemarketing business now has a turnover of £2million

LOSING her eyesight was just another challenge Liz Jackson took in her stride after launching her own telemarketing company from the lounge of her rented flat seven years ago.

Ms Jackson, whose company Great Guns Marketing has eight branches across the UK with a £2 million turnover, is now finding the time to inspire other business women.

She will be a key speaker at the 'Succeeding Against The Odds' Kent Women in Business luncheon, at Turkey Mill, Maidstone, on Thursday, June 30.

Ms Jackson will be talking about the challenges of being an entrepreneur, the specific advantages and disadvantages of being a woman in business, and how she uses action to cure fear.

She will be joined on the platform by award-winning broadcaster and writer Barbara Sturgeon who has worked for the BBC as a freelance for more than 20 years.

Ms Sturgeon will describe her career, which took her to being one of the most recognised voices in the county as a presenter for BBC Radio Kent dealing with a broad range of political, social and human interest issues.

She has won numerous awards including the title of Sony Local Radio Personality of the Year.

Ms Sturgeon's other professional activities include corporate presentations, media training in Norway and Sweden, videos and voice-overs as well as stage appearances.

Tickets for the event, which takes place between 11am to 3pm, cost £29.50, plus VAT, include a two-course lunch.
