A leading logistics firm has enhanced its offering after securing a key customs status at a leading airport.

Dover-based Priority Freight has acquired what is known as authorised economic operator full (AEOF) status for its London Heathrow operations.

It follows on from receiving similar status for its Madrid site in September.

AEO is a major accreditation which is based on the customs-business partnership developed by the World Customs Organisation (WCO).

While not mandatory, it is becoming a quality standard. The ‘full' status demonstrates adherence to both globally recognised customs standards and the appropriate security and safety standards in place to protect the international supply chain.

Andrew Austin, group operations director at Priority Freight, said: "AEOF is a major boost for our UK operations. This, along with the recent accreditation for our Madrid operations, shows that we are continuing to push forwards to provide the best expedited logistics solutions to our global clients.
