A new £2million concrete plant has been opened in Rochester.
The facility by the heavy building material supplier Hanson will supply ready-mixed concrete for construction projects in the area.
The plant replaces the company’s former concrete facility in the town, which closed almost a decade ago.
It provides increased capacity, improved productivity and benefits from lower power consumption and minimal ongoing maintenance.
Explained Hanson managing director Brian Charleton: "This is a significant investment and demonstrates our long-term commitment to the area.
“Demand is high for high-quality concrete in the south east and this new plant will provide back-up to our sites in Maidstone, Sittingbourne and Tunbridge Wells."
