Mayor presents quality award

AN engineering company in Sittingbourne has been presented with a work experience award. Mayor of Swale Brenda Simpson presented the award to Peter Thompson, director of technology at the Sittingbourne branch of Aeromet International plc. The Quality Award for Work Experience, awarded by Kent and Medway Education Business Alliance, recognises the company in organising high quality work experience programmes for students from local schools to prepare them for the world of work.

Those who attended the presentation ceremony include Aeromet International plc staff who support the firm's successful work experience programme and staff and students from local education establishments who have participated in the firm's high quality programme. Jan Thornby, the manager of Canterbury and Swale Education Business Partnership, and Dina Moore, the consultant who undertook the firm's assessment for the award also attended.
