McDonald’s has created 100 new jobs in Kent.

A facelift by a European design studio of six restaurants and the opening of a new outlet at Eureka Park, Ashford, are part of a £1.15 million investment in the county by the fast food operator.

The new style outlets offer free WiFi which franchisee Chris Symons says has helped to attract more young professional people. He said: “At a time when unemployment is a hot topic and a concern for all, it’s good news that we’ve been able to create around 100 jobs this year.

“We recruit on qualities, not qualifications, so we hope that the roles we’ve made available have appealed to a broad spectrum of the local community.”

He added: “The new look also demonstrates our ongoing commitment to invest in the local community, both financially and in terms of employment, ensuring we continue to provide job opportunities and value-added benefits for our customers. We’ve recruited some bright new people who we believe will help deliver the great customer service visitors to the restaurant expect.”

Mr Symons operates six stores, in Maidstone, Folkestone and Ashford. The Kent investment is part of a £50m refurbishment programme across the UK.
