The Milk Development Council (MDC) has appointed Shirley Macmillan as an Extension Officer with responsibility for the South East of England.
She previously worked for 10 years as a journalist and was deputy editor and editor of Dairy Farmer magazine. During this time Shirley communicated a wide range of topics to dairy farmers to help improve their businesses and generate more profit.
Shirley has won several awards for her writing proficiency and has built up a diverse and wide networking base. Added to her wealth of experience in the British dairy industry she has also worked in New Zealand.
Shirley will act as an MDC ambassador in the South East by providing wider access to technology transfer, allowing levy payers greater access to MDC services and information, liaising with regional committees, levy payers and other local networks.
