MULTI-millionaire Stephen Rose shared his 'tips and tricks' for business success with hundreds of would-be entrepreneurs across Kent.
Dubbed Mr Successful by his peers, Stephen has amassed a personal fortune on the back of 30 years’ hard graft in the health insurance world.
The joint managing director and founder of SecureHealth, the private health insurance company, spoke at five seminars around the county, organised by Business Link Kent (BLK).
The final talk at The Salomons Centre, near Tunbridge Wells, attracted more than 140 people looking to start, or expand, their own business.
Mr Rose offered advice on building a profitable business and avoiding costly mistakes.
He said: "I spent two years planning SecureHealth before it got off the ground. I started with zero and didn’t pay myself any wages for the first three years, now it has a turnover of £35m a year."
Tips included buying second hand office equipment to avoid superfluous spending, strict time management, developing people skills and setting sales and marketing goals.
Richard Green, BLK’s West Kent area manager, who chaired the seminar, said: "The aim was to enable start-up companies to find the advice and backing they need to build a successful business, and help established companies looking to expand.
"More than 600 companies attended during the week and we hope they all went away having picked up some useful tips."
