BIO-HEALTH has been accepted by Kent County Council's 'Produced in Kent' initiative, which allows the company to use the logo on its products.
The logo (pictured right) indicates the Rochester-based producer of natural health supplements is using locally produced materials.
The scheme was set up by KCC in 2001 and is supported by the council's environment and economy division within the rural regeneration team. It is designed to encourage the growth of the local economy.
Bio-Health is one of the first companies to join the initiative that does not fall into the food, farm produce or craft categories.
June Crisp, Bio-Health's sales and marketing director, said: "We are delighted to be accepted into the 'Produced in Kent' scheme. We only use the highest quality, pure herbs, vitamins and minerals in our supplements and the logo will help to convey that message to our customers.
"We are really excited about joining the scheme, which is a wonderful intiative that helps to support local producers and inform the people of Kent about the fantastic goods that are being produced on their doorstep."
Bio-Health manufactures a range of herbal medicines and vitamin and mineral supplements that are available around the country from independent health stores, pharmacists and complementary health therapists.
It also has growing export markets in Portugal, Greece, Sweden, Kenya and Malaysia.
The company's headquarters are in Culpepper Close on the Medway City Estate.
