The clinic, which opened this month, provides everything from hearing tests, hearing aids, tinnitus management, ear wax removal to custom ear moulds for hearing aids, air pods, noise, sleep and swimming as well as hearing aid reprogramming repairs, and real ear measurements.

“We are looking to provide a high standard of hearing care in an area where there is a great need for it,” said practice owner Kechi Oribabor, who has been practising as an audiologist for 16 years, including in the NHS and in private clinics in London. “We realised that there was a gap in this area and we want to fill that with a complete offering of ear treatment services.”

Oribabor, who was previously a coach and trainer for audiologists, said that the clinic had been established in response to the growing number of people being diagnosed with hearing loss and the increased awareness around the issue, with one in four people now experiencing some form of hearing loss. In particular, she said that there has been a rise in people seeking help for tinnitus and auditory processing disorders, with up to 80% of people with hearing loss typically having tinnitus.

Sonant Hearing Clinic is recognised by private healthcare insurance companies in the area as an audiology provider. The clinic provides hearing care to direct paying patients and health insurance claimants.
