Kent Choices Live: Careers fair at Kent Showground

Employers will search for the next generation of talent at KentChoices Live 2016.

The event is a great place to help students find their career match, as well as learning more about apprenticeships.

Many employers who are exhibiting have excellent apprenticeship schemes and are keen to tell young people how to apply.

School children will visit the exhibition today, while tomorrow it opens to job seekers from across the county.

Current apprentices will also be available to explain about the benefits and how their career has progressed.

A team of Kent County Council (KCC) apprentices, who are taking part in the Brathay Apprentice Challenge and are hoping to be recognised as the best team in the country, will be there helping to raise the profile of apprenticeships.

Former KCC apprentice Gemma Clarke, who is now a business support officer, said: “Being an apprentice has helped me develop my career and really given me the opportunity to thrive.

“It will be good to talk to others about how my experience has helped benefit me.”

KentChoices Live 2016 takes place at Kent Showground, Detling, on Wednesday and Thursday, March 16 to 17.
