THE 45,000 sq ft JJB Superstore and Fitness Club is the first of its kind in the south east and opens its doors to the public on October 21.
It will be home to an array of the latest facilities including a 20m swimming pool, a gym and free-weights area and two aerobic studios with extensive timetables.
There will even be a member’s lounge, luxury changing rooms, two hot relaxing spas and a fibre optic lit aromatic steam room.
Will Starkey, JJB Sports and Leisure national sales manager, said: "Westwood Cross is the ideal location for our first club in the south east due to the great environment, accessibility and retail offer that already exists.
"The club really will be superb, a premium club but at membership prices which local people will find thrilling. Even the most committed gym member will be surprised to see cutting edge fitness equipment that they have never experienced before.
"The interest we have had already prior to the official opening has been phenomenal."
There will be a special opening membership offer available as part of JJB’s initiative to promote healthy living whereby members paying for 12 months membership upfront will receive a free bike up to the value of £99.99.
The club will open from 6.30am until 10pm on weekdays and from 8am until 8pm at weekends.
The JJB Superstore which is already open, offers a huge range of sports clothing as well as impressive bike and golfing departments.
David Plumb, Westwood Cross centre manager, said: "JJB is a fantastic addition to Westwood Cross. It is providing shoppers with a whole new leisure experience and has created 40 new full- and part-time jobs for local people.
"We now a comprehensive sportswear and equipment offer which encompasses both retail in the superstore and activities in the fitness club. The fitness club element, along with our late night opening times during the week, adds to the great convenience that Westwood Cross offers."
