It’s October, which means one thing – it’s officially spooky season! With Halloween just around the corner, the humble pumpkin will take centre stage.
Whether you’re showing off your decorative carving skills for trick-or-treaters or cooking up some mouth-watering, healthy pumpkin recipes, this unique fruit is quintessentially autumnal and offers limitless potential.
To mark the start of pumpkin season 2023, Pumpkin Moon is returning for October, bringing over 100 different varieties of pick-your-own pumpkin, squash and gourd to Maidstone and Rainham.
Pumpkin Moon makes for the perfect autumnal outing for families, couples and groups of friends looking for pumpkin-related fun.
There are so many pumpkins to discover – from traditional orange to the weird and wonderful, in all shapes and sizes. As well as the typical favourites, like Goosebump or tiny Munchkin, there will be loads you have probably never heard of.
Pumpkin Moon has two pick-your-own pumpkin farm locations in Kent – Maidstone (Pumpkin Moon, Old Chatham Road, Sandling, Nr Maidstone, ME14 3BE) and Rainham (Pumpkin Moon, Lower Rainham Road, Rainham, Gillingham ME7 2YA).
Both farms have ample parking, as well as delicious food and drinks on site, so you can make a real day of it. Fancy dress is encouraged and the pumpkin fields provide a great Instagrammable photo opportunity.
So, this October, come and borrow one of Pumpkin Moon’s colourful wheelbarrows, choose your favourite pumpkin and enjoy a wonderful new annual tradition of picking your own pumpkin.
Pumpkin Moon is open to visitors on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th October (Rainham only), Saturday 14th and Sunday 15thOctober (Rainham and Maidstone) and 20th-29th October (Rainham and Maidstone).
