PUBLIC relations firm Edwards Harvey has been appointed to handle consumer media relations and marketing activity for Fremlin Walk shopping development in Maidstone.
It won the contract in a four-way pitch to property and investment company Land Securities.
The Maidstone-based agency, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and is listed as one of Britain’s top 150 agencies, will create and manage a co-ordinated PR and marketing strategy to promote Fremlin Walk as a stylish shopping destination.
It will work closely with design and advertising agency Impact Image Management, also based in Maidstone.
The £100 million retail centre – built on the site of the former Fremlin brewery – opened in March.
With 50 outlets already trading or about to open, the complex is the result of a partnership between investor Land Securities, developer Centros Miller, contractor Miller Construction, Maid-stone council and associate companies.
Edwards Harvey managing director Pip Clarkson said: “Fremlin Walk is revolutionising the shopping experience in Maidstone and is helping to revitalise the heart of our historic county town. We are delighted to be working with Land Securities on this exciting project."
