THREE recycled computers have been given to the Kent Autistic Trust by Canterbury-based ADM Computing.
The unwanted equipment, given to the company by Canterbury City Council and Ashford Borough Council, was cleaned up and tested by ADM before being passed on.
Des Walker from the trust, which is administered from Ashford, said: "Running specialised software applications on the donated PCs will help individuals with their learning and development."
ADM, which installs new equipment across the county, has been recycling for years and estimates it has rehomed £100,000 of IT equipment. Managing director Adrian Bryant said: "Once a company has its new computers they often don't know what to do with the old ones. ADM Computing's recycling scheme takes these PCs, cleans and tests them and then passes them on to local charities."
Registered charities looking for such equipment or companies that would like to donate items are asked to contact Ellen Pocock at ADM Computing on 01227 473545.
