A LEADING South East chartered surveyor has been appointed as president-elect by the profession’s governing body, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
Former RICS South East chairman, David Tuffin, is joint senior partner at leading independent building consultants Tuffin Ferraby Taylor, based in Kingston, and currently a member of RICS’ Governing Council and also the RICS chairman of England.
Commenting on the appointment, Colin Joyce, RICS South East chairman, said: "David has built up an impressive track record in positions of seniority within the RICS.
"His qualities are numerous but those of commitment and positive attitude particularly stand out. His depth of character has clearly been acknowledged and will be invaluable in his new role."
Mr Tuffin said: "It's a great privilege to take on this role at such an exciting time of business and economic change all over the world. RICS represents a huge diversity of professionals and members from many walks of life.
"Chartered surveyors everywhere need to be prepared for the future demands of a changing business environment and I very much look forward to being involved in that process."
Mr Tuffin will take up the role of RICS president in July 2007.
