An asphalt and bitumen company has opened an office in the county after investing more than £1 million over the last two years.
Gibbs Surfacing lays more than 220,000 tonnes of macadam each year and has opened its third national office at Kings Hill, near West Malling.
The firm, headquarted in Swindon, marks its 50th anniversary this year.
It has completed work for contractors like Sir Robert McAlpine, Galliford Try, Balfour Beatty and Costain.
Run by a team of four directors, led by managing director Vince Gibbs, it employs 60 people.
Announcing the move, bosses said: “Gibbs have foreseen the added pressure on the civil engineering sector and have been proactive in seizing the opportunity to bring job opportunities to Kent and use local skilled labour.”
