ROSS LOGAN is representing the interests of funeral directors across the county in his new role as president and chairman of the Kent region National Association of Funeral Directors.
Mr Logan, 32, of Herne Bay Funeral Services, says the association acts as an Ombudsman'for the profession. He holds the post for two years during which he will head up a committee meeting three times a year.
"We liaise with KCC about cemeteries and the people who run crematoria, we discuss rises in their fees and those of doctors and we help sort out any grievances," he explained.
"All funeral directors need to have a voice that goes somewhere. We are one of the smaller businesses so have the time to do it."
During the four years since he and partner Andrew Buckett opened, the business in Sea Street has gradually become known in the town, he said.
"It has been slow and hard work," said Mr Logan. "I know this post will mean extra work but I am looking forward to the challenge."
