Social housing provider Russet is moving to Kings Hill
by business editor Trevor Sturgess
A social housing provider is overhauling its customer services by opening a new headquarters.
Russet, which owns and manages more than 7,000 properties and serves 16,000 residents in Tonbridge and Malling, is moving to 32 Tower View, Kings Hill.
It is taking on 17,600 sq ft of space in one of the year's largest commercial property transactions in Kent. The new HQ will replace three smaller offices.
Russet intends to increase the number of visits to residents' homes.
Its group partner Invicta Telecare, which provides services to more than 2,000 people in Tonbridge and Malling, will share the new base.
Russet's managing director Denise Reeves said the new offices would help staff improve the level of on and off site support for customers.
"Russet's commitment to its residents is what inspired this exciting move. We will be consulting with them every step of the way to make sure our new home can fit their needs exactly."
Andrew Blevins, managing director of Kings Hill developer Liberty Property Trust UK, said: "We are delighted that Russet and Invicta Telecare have decided to relocate to Kings Hill. We have worked hard to refurbish the building so it is ready for them to start fitting out.
"Despite the difficult economic climate, this is a great endorsement for Kings Hill that will bring new jobs onto the development."
