Saga reveals Bovis Homes finance director Jonathan Hill will join the Folkestone-based firm in April

The finance director of Kent house builder Bovis Homes is to take up the same position at over-50s holiday and insurance firm Saga in April, it has been revealed.

Jonathan Hill announced his decision in September to leave the New Ash Green-based builder in favour of the Folkestone-based services provider.

He will take up his new role on April 7, working with current Saga finance director Stuart Howard to “ensure a smooth handover” according to chief executive Lance Batchelor.

The firm’s boss added that “current trading remains in line with market expectations for the full year” in a trading update on the London Stock Exchange.

Mr Batchelor added: “Our flexible business model continues to allow us to move resources efficiently around the group depending on the wider market climate, enabling us to deliver consistent returns.”

The company announced that like for like pre-tax profits had grown 14.9% to £106.5m when it announced its half year results in September.

After expenses occured from its float on the London Stock Exchange and the cost of a new debt, this figure fell to £32.8m.
