A GENEROUS school donation means a high street will be lit up this Christmas.

Merton Court Preparatory School, Knoll Road, have sealed the deal for Christmas lights along Sidcup High Street with a £780 gift.

Traders were running the risk of going without as they believed it was not their responsibility to pay for them.

The lights cost more than £2,000 in total, but donations from Bexley council, Sidcup Town Partnership and retailers means the amount has almost been reached.
