School representing region in national compeition

A TEAM from Chatham House Grammar School at Ramsgate is representing the south east region in the national finals of the Young Consumer of the Year competition.

The team of A level economics students - Richard Payne, Kristos Shakallis, Adam Taylor and Stefan Giancola - will compete against other regional representatives at the Excel Centre in London’s Docklands on Wednesday.

Chatham House has an excellent track record in the competition – it represented the south east region in the finals at Edinburgh 2003, and has won or been runner up in the county finals for six of the last seven years.

Head teacher John Mathews said: "To reach the final again is a terrific achievement and our teams past and present are indebted to the excellent support of head of business studies David Burney."

The team can again expect to answer questions on consumer and legal matters, money and finance, Europe and travel, safety and the environment, food and drink, plus pot luck, just a minute and blockbuster rounds.
