Seminars aim to help firms raise cash

NEW and growing companies have a chance to learn top tips on raising money for business.

Seminars hosted in Canterbury and Tunbridge Wells by Business Link Kent, the county's independent business advice agency, will give valuable advice about the sources of funds for people looking for business cash.

"We will be dealing with the types of finance available and what is most appropriate for individual companies," said BLK finance development manager Ian Netherton.

"Businesses will also learn what sort of information lenders are looking for and how to maximise their chances of getting the money they need. These seminars always prove very popular because they set out in a straightforward way the options open to people who need finance, whether to expand their business, invest in new equipment or to ease cash flow problems."

Seminars,aimed at new and start-up businesses will be held on Tuesday February 25, at the University of Kent at Canterbury, and on Tuesday 25 March, at the Jarvis Pembury Hotel, Tunbridge Wells.

Seminars for large companies will be held on Wednesday February 26, at the University of Kent at Canterbury, and on Wednesday March 26, at the Jarvis Pembury Hotel, Tunbridge Wells.

These will cover equity finance, venture capital and business angels, factoring and invoice discounting, and grants. Tickets cost £35 plus VAT and seminars run from 7.30am to 10am.
