FIFTY new jobs are being created by the latest store opening in Ashford next month.

Designer and high street labels from one of the nation's leading fashion and homeware retailers will be on offer from November 6 on the Sevington Business Park.

TK Maxx is the European subsidiary of the American TJX Company with 1,500 US stores. The Ashford branch is one of 20 stores planned to open in the UK this year.

Recruitment days are being held all next week at the Job Centre in Station Road, Ashford.

The store with over 50,000 items will offer women's, men's and children's wear, home items and gifts at up to 60 per cent less that recommended retail price.

Company spokesperson Julie Davidson said: "We were looking for a suitable location to open in Ashford and this has proved to be an ideal site in terms of size and accessibility.

"TK Maxx provides a unique shopping environment, which we hope will appeal across the generations."
