An industrial tyre business has been taken over by global off-road tyre and track manufacturer Camso for an undisclosed sum.

Southern Industrial Tyres, based in Northfleet, is a long-term client of its new owner, formerly known as Camoplast Solideal.

It has been acquired to strengthen Camso’s tyre distribution and service in the UK.

The firm offers on-site fleet checks, tyre fitment, wheel exchange, foam filling and puncture proofing, as well as environmental disposal.

“The addition of Southern Industrial Tyres and its team to the Camso family is an important and valued move for us,” said Gregory Fossey, vice-president of material handling at Camso.

“This acquisition enhances Camso’s leadership position in the UK and provides complimentary offerings in line with the company’s vision for tire service, bringing a greater capacity to serve, even better and faster, its already strong client base.
