AS PART of a continuing programme to develop the corporate website, Thanet Council has introduced two new sections aimed at assisting residents, businesses and students. Visitors to the site can source information, facts and figures about economic and social life in and around Thanet.

Local Facts and Figures and Your Life and Community can be reached via the site's homepage at www.benhall.co.uk. And both sections provide a mix of new downloadable documents, links to information already held elsewhere on the site or signposts to informative websites managed by external organizations.

Facts and Figures provides local statistical and numerical data on an array of subjects, including air and bathing water quality, climate and weather, local taxation charges and social and business demographics. The Life and Community initiative follows government guidelines to assist people in managing key life events, including birth, marriage and death, home and family life, life as an older member of the community and business issues.
