The firm has been distributing into Ireland through Avoca since last year. Some 46 stockists have come on board since February – roughly one a week.

Since its humble beginnings in 2008, when it was available in a single farm shop, today it is churning out about 32,800 pots a week for more than 500 outlets nationwide.

Founder and owner Sally Newall set up the business after quitting her career in full time catering, moving into ice cream production due to the feedback she had received on her frozen desserts.

She said: “It has been a fantastic couple of years for Simply Ice Cream, having been through huge changes two years ago where we had a big restructure we now have the most fantastic team in place throughout all areas.
