A company that specialises in tax refunds and accountancy celebrates its 15th anniversary this month.
The Rift Group have been serving people in Kent since its managing director spotted the chance to help construction workers.
Managing director and founder Jan Post seized the opportunity to work alongside contractors, who were working on the Channel Tunnel Rail Link at the time, as she provided them with the possibility to reclaim tax on mileage they were accumulating.
Rift has now helped around 37,000 customers across Construction, Ministry of Defence, Oil & Gas, Sports and Healthcare sectors, claiming back more than £90 million on their behalf.
The Ashford-based company employs over 150 people, with 80% of those staff members coming from the town itself.
Speaking of RIFT’s anniversary, managing director Jan Post said: “By focusing on our core values and truly putting customers first we have been able to build a business which is known for integrity, trust and reliability. I’m extremely proud of this and to be able to celebrate RIFT’s 15th anniversary.
“Back when I was setting up the company, I never dreamed that years later I would be heading a company employing 150 local people. There are so many reasons to celebrate, my first employee Kieran Brogan is still with us and is now our Operations Director. Added to this, my son Bradley took up my offer of joining the business five years ago, he has added a real strategic direction and contributed to us doubling in size in the past two years.
“Our successes are also our testament to the hard work and commitment of everyone who works here and we are all looking forward to celebrating with a summer barbecue for staff and their families.”
