TESCO Metro, which opens in Canterbury’s Whitefriars centre on Monday, August 16, has created 113 jobs.
Store manager Stuart Finch said the recruitment process was a big success, bringing on board staff to cover all aspects of the business from security to checkouts.
Mr Finch said: "It is wonderful to see people taking up a career with Tesco, the response has been excellent.
"We offer a full training programme to support both full and part-time workers and offers flexible working hours. We have created a dedicated team of staff, committed to ensuring customers enjoy their shopping trips.
"The store has brought a lot of jobs to Canterbury and I feel this will benefit Canterbury in the long term."
The new store on Gravel Walk is set to open its doors to customers at 10am with an official opening ceremony.
In addition to the food range, the store boasts a bakery and a magazine and newspaper section.
