The University of Kent has won a major travel award for the 13th consecutive year.
It was named 'best university accommodation for groups' at the recent awards voted on by readers of the magazine Group Travel Organiser.
The 2020 Group Travel Awards, held virtually this year due to the pandemic, recognised the university for its on-campus offering in Canterbury during spring and summer periods.
Sheena Butterworth, conference manager at the University of Kent , said: “It’s such a wonderful honour to win this award again.
"We are very proud to deliver a high standard of accommodation for groups here at the University of Kent, at a very affordable price in a superb location.
"It is the combination of our excellent product along with the outstanding customer service our team consistently delivers which drives the continued success in winning this national award year after year."
The university fought off strong competition from four other universities who were shortlisted: Imperial College London, St Aidan’s College at Durham University, University of Portsmouth and York Conferences at the University of York.
During the spring and summer vacation periods the University of Kent offers group accommodation to a wide range of UK and overseas groups with group rates starting from £21.50 per person per night.
