Work on a housing development has been pushed back into next year after problems with key services.
Housebuilder Bovis Homes had hoped to build the properties on its Catkin Gardens development in Headcorn by the end of the year.
But the company, headquartered in Kings Hill, has now confirmed work has been postponed and will not resume until the new year.
Paul McBride, technical director for Bovis Homes’ south east regions, said: “Due to circumstances beyond our control, we’ve not been able to make the progress that we would have hoped at Catkin Gardens and have made the decision to postpone housebuilding until the beginning of 2019.
"This delay is due to ongoing utilities works, which are being carried out by external parties close to the site, taking longer than expected.
"This work is important for the progress of the development, and for the provision to the wider community, and the decision has been made to allow this work to be completed before continuing with the delivery of these much-needed new homes.
“We would like to thank the community for their patience and support, and look forward to welcoming potential new residents to view the new homes in the spring. In the meantime, we will ensure that we provide updates on progress, where possible.”
