A second-hand luxury watch seller has won an award for capturing an untapped market – its third gong of the year.
Watchfinder was named Retail Hero at the Growing Business Awards, a national competition for entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized businesses.
The Maidstone-based firm beat off competition from Graze, Bodice and Hotcha to win at the ceremony in the London Marriot Hotel, held in association with Lloyds Bank and the CBI.
The awards were judged over the past year with financial audits, growth strategy and personal interviews with the directors.
Retail veteran and former Comet chairman John Clare led the interview process, praising Watchfinder on their foresight in tapping into the pre-owned luxury watch market 12 years ago.
The award this week follows wins at the Retail Jeweller Awards and the Digital Entrepreneur awards.
Co-founder and managing director Stuart Hennell said: “The award really recognises our business and every individual within it who has contributed to our £130m turnover to date. I am very proud of my team and company.”
