We face huge problems, says Scally

GILLINGHAM Footbal Club chairman Paul Scally has warned that the game faces problems of enormous proportions following the move to place ITV Digital into administration by owners Carlton and Granada. Under the terms of the deal, Gillingham were due to receive £2.7 million in August.

He told the club's official website: "We will have to wait and find out the implications because we cannot predict what decisions the administrator will take on running the business. But football is now facing a problem of enormous proportions. I hope the Government steps in and takes control before this becomes a crisis from which football, as we know it, might never recover."
