Winemaker Chapel Down is to produce a limited edition wine to mark its first year as an official supplier to Ascot Racecourse.
The Tenterden-based vineyard is the Official English Sparkling Wine of the horseracing circuit and will produce a special limited edition wine to mark next month’s Royal Ascot race meeting.
It already has sporting agreements in place with the England cricket team and the Boat Race.
As part of its deal with Ascot, Chapel Down will host a sparking wine bar to the 250,000 race fans expected during the week-long events.
Chloë Hamlett, head of partnerships at Ascot Racecourse, said: “This is the perfect way to mark Chapel Down’s inaugural year as the Official English Sparkling Wine of Royal Ascot – the first of many we hope.”
The Royal Ascot Edition is limited to 2,000 bottles and will cost £40 a bottle.
