THE FUTURE is looking bright for a lighting company that is creating 10 new jobs after less than a year in business.
Lighting Logic, based in The Maidstone Studios, Vinters Park, Maidstone, works with media, theatre, film and construction companies and is set to turn over nearly £1m in its first year of trading.
Directors Matt Miles and Mick Cocker, who between them have more than 30 years in the industry, founded the company in January 2004.
Things have gone so well that they intend taking on a further 10 people to join the existing team of four permanent staff and 30 contract workers.
They have already won contracts with the London Stock Exchange, ITV, and Granada.
Mr Cocker said: "Matt and I are determined to make the most of every market opportunity, and it is this attitude that has really helped us to grow the business in such a short space of time."
The specialist company has a funding partnership with Maidstone-based Cattles Invoice Finance to enable it to go for big contracts without worrying about cash flow.
Mr Miles added: "We wanted to work with the bigger construction companies, but to do so we had to offer 60-day credit terms, which as a small business we just could not do for fear of the impact it would have on our cash flow.
"The partnership with Cattles Invoice Finance means we have the freedom to work with these bigger companies and so we can continue to exploit every opportunity without worrying about the effect it will have on the level of working capital in the business."
Under the deal, Lighting Logic can obtain capital as soon as an invoice is issued so they do not have to wait 60 days or more for payment.
David Moran, Cattles' regional managing director, said: "This not only allows the company to grow at a pace that suits the team, but also to take advantage of the opportunity to work with big companies where the volume of work over the long-term is substantial."
