SIX holiday parks in the county are to be upgraded in a multi-million pound facelift.

The £10million investment will affect New Beach (Dymchurch), Marlie Farm (New Romney), Alberta and Seaview (Swalecliffe), Sheerness Park (Minster on Sea), and Harts (Leysdown).

They are among 19 coastal holiday parks owned by Cinque Ports Leisure, the owner of Cinque Ports Holiday Parks, the UK’s fourth largest holiday home and caravan park group.

It was recently bought for £130million in a complex management deal backed by private equity investor Graphite Capital.

Chief executive Jeff Sills said: "We are committed to spending around £10million on the parks.

"Initially we are spending a considerable sum on park re-branding, signage and marketing but we have already launched our six-year plan to enhance the clubs and other facilities on the parks and our customer service."

Tony Clish, new commercial director, said the company would grow organically and by acquisition. "We are excited about the opportunities to build on Cinque Ports’ strong base and grow the business."

Cinque Ports Holiday Parks was formed 20 years ago. It also operates parks in Suffolk, Dorset, Essex, East and West Sussex, and Hampshire.

Last year, group turnover was £41million. Mr Sills was previously chief executive of the Tom Cobleigh and Landmark public house chains.

Mr Clish was previously a director of Great British Holiday Parks. Michael Jolly, former boss of Madame Tussauds, is company chairman.
